David Fairbairn (F-9)

#27910
FatherJohn Fairbairn
MotherFrances Stefani
GeneticDistance(Testee) At 12 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from David show: zero to Doug, Tom, David, Joe and Patrick; 1 to Earl, Roy, Martin, William and Doug
GeneticDistance(Testee37Markers) At 37 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from David show: 1 to Ron, Doug(GOODFELLOW) and Tom; 2 to John(JOHNSTON), Joe and Martin; 3 to Earl, Michael and Roy; 4 to David, Patrick and Doug(BLAKEY); 5 to William.
GeneticDistance(Testee67Markers) At 67 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from David show: 3 to Stewart, RF(Bob), GZY67(Elliot) and Mike(IRWIN); 4 to John(JOHNSTON), Joe, Alexander, Geoffrey, (Eckford:F-27), 8V8X3(Elliott), RD(Elliott) and Charles(Elliott); 5 to Doug(GOODFELLOW); 6 to Martin and Patrick; 7 to Roy and Earl; 9 to William; ie David belongs to the second "clump" of the overall lineage 1, being the only one of the clump 2 sub group with 446 = 14 not having 570=19 nor 413a=25.

Lineage(TesteeONS) David was found to be part of Fairbairn Lineage 1b4a, with closest matches now being and Robert F (F-34), who are themselves the closest to the modal for all of the matching FAIRBAIRNs, and in Lineage 1b2. But David (F-9) shares 446=14 with a number of others, so has been placed in 1b4a for now, click here for chart.
Researcher(ResearcherFONS) David is researching the line of John Fairbairn **. See the Fairbairn One Name Study for contact details.

WebSummary(Witness) The Hoquiam Triangle: We now have the preliminary dna results in for William (F-12), a documented descendant of John A Fairbairn Snr of Stillwater, Washington Co, MN, with Bill is indeed showing as an excellent match to Roy (F-3), the descendant of John's uncle William (phew!) The relationship to the other side of the Hoquiam triangle is rather murkier however as the representative of the Sunderland side of the triangle, Joe (F-10), belongs to "clump 2" of lineage 1. Still related, but how?
With the full 67 marker results in, it rather looks like the 3rd side of the triangle represented by Joe (F-10), is showing marginally closer relationships with the lines of Thomas Fairbairn (marr. Elspeth Redpath), John Fairbairn (marr. Helen Campbell) and Trotter (marr. Jane Fairbairn) Fairbairn) lines. The expected relations above come a close second.
The stated Genetic Distances of 5 for the lines of Thomas (REDPATH) and John (CAMPBELL) and 6/7, the John (FLINT) lines, can probably be marked one less because of the faster mutating markers involved.
