Where there are two generations of "real" people below a haplogroup branch, one is the earliest maternal ancestor, the "daughter" is either a descendant, or the person tested.
Please note that although these trees attempt to be accurate, they are only an indication of placement.
As such, all dates, and haplogroup placements really do need checking against current science as this page is infrequently updated, and haplogroup names and placements are regularly refined.
