Six tentative papertrail/dna linked sons for Thomas and Jean.
As at Aug 2014 we have a dna representatives for sons John, Thomas and George, who all match each other, and to the others in Lineage 1 (Wanton Walls, Crail and Dunbar lines), but also two other reps that don't match them, or each other.
Further representatives would be great to have to see what dna can add to our research, particularly on the as yet unrepresented sons:
Alexander who married Joan Manderson, Robert who married Agnes King, and of the William who married Janet Paxton.

  • John Runciman+ (May 1784 - ); With the same occupation for Thomas at his marriage, and at the baptism of John, this link seems clear, and the John married to Marion/May Weatherly was the son of a Thomas, occupation unknown
  • Alexander Runciman+ (say 1786 - bet. 1831 - 1841); A Thomas was the witness to the baptisms for several of Alexander's children, but we do not know whether or not this Thomas was a tailor, or a hind
  • Thomas Runciman+ (cir. 1791 - Dec 1885); This Thomas and Jane are in the right time and place to match son Thomas' death cert's parents, even though there is no known baptism extant - confirmed by dna match with descendant of John & May Jun 2014
  • Robert Runciman (cir. 1794 - May 1869)
  • George Runciman+ (Sep 1798 - bet. 1841 - 1851); Although a Thomas and Jean (Simpson) had a son born Crawhill 1798, this may or may not be the Thomas, tailor of Broxburn from 1783/4, and may or may not, be the George married to Janet Darling. George and Janet did however have an eldest son Thomas and dna results are showing an good match between descendants of two other lines from Thomas and Jean
