The results shown are extracted from the overall HENDERSON project participants
Primarily Henderson lines from around Stirlingshire/Perthshire.
These are the results of interest in helping break through the brick wall of Archibald, smith at the Bridge of Allan.

No success so far, just a mostly confirmed dna signature for a particular branch of my HENDERSON family.

For more HENDERSON dna results, see the HENDERSON DNA project results from which the following subset has been extracted.

Should any Y-DNA STR matches ensue, they will be added here as can any other Stirlingshire/Perthshire Henderson lines.

In the meantime, I'm putting more faith in a breakthru coming from autosomal DNA.

At 37 markers, Family Tree DNA Time Predictor gave a theoretical 65% probability that William (H-1) and Russell (H-2) share a common ancestor no further than 6 generations ago, given that we know that their common ancestor was not within 2 generations.
Their actual relationship (they're 2nd cousins, sharing a common 3rd generation, William, married to Helen WIGHT) only has a 37% probability!
Both tests are now at at least 67 markers.
At this level the above figures change to 69% within 6 generations and 84% at 8 with the actual relationship only being given 27% probability.

Wouldn't it be great to get a dna match to help pinpoint where Archibald sprang from!!
At 67 markers, we now show two matches, both GD6 with the surname of JENKINS.
Which match does not hold for the one of the two tested to DNA y111 markers.

All we need now is a direct male line descending from Archibald to validate the yDNA STR signature we only have confirmed from his grandson William, son of James so far!
With the advent of BigY testing, and analysis at YFull, we remained in an exclusive group, under R-S7361 for a long time, only consisting of 3 people and no sub-branches
Recent developments as at Feb 2017, show the Y-DNA tree of mankind beginning to split into more branches.
Second cousins Bill and Russell now share a sub branch, R-Y29908, time to MRCA 225 ybp. Not to mention some matches to give hints as to this brickwall!
Other known BigY tests known to be R-S7361 are currently split off into either R-S7361* (ie no known sub-branch as yet), or sub group R-CTS5356, TMRCA 1400 ybp. We are awaiting another tested kit with Perthshire ancestry, which should pop up shortly.

Overall position on YDNA tree of mankind

Although only tested to the Y-DNA STR marker grid above only shows up to Y-DNA67, several markers in the 68-111 section have also been identified from analysis at YFull.
The image below shows those markers, to Y-DNA111, that are significant for the haplogroup Archibald HENDERSON's descendant has been assigned to (S7361).
Further information on the S7361 branch of the Y-DNA tree of mankind is available at both:
