| Recruit(AnotherWanted) | The project would like to recruit another representative of this line. How does this family relate to the others? Descendants seem to have populated, or at least travelled to, many parts of the world: the Rev Patrick's extended family could be found in British Guiana, Canada, Africa and New Zealand (at least); George's in Australia, South Africa and England; John a Minister in Greenlaw, Berwickshire. We now have a representative from the line of the Rev. Patrick FAIRBAIRN, however another from one of his brothers would be very useful in order to get a good confirmation of John's dna signature. Candidates do seem a little in short supply however, as most branches appear to have "daughtered out", hence the restricted descendancy chart. |

| Note(ParentAlternate) | Patrick Fairbairn is an alternate father for John Fairbairn * An uncorroborated extract from Burke's Colonial Gentry, (1970) shows John's parents as Patrick and Margaret (Purves) Fairbairn, which I strongly suspect is a mixture of Jessie's parents and John's, given Jessie's death cert. shows hers as a Patrick and Margaret (Johnston) Johnston, and his look more likely to be James and Elizabeth (Purves) Fairbairn, particularly given the cousinships stated in the Rev John's 1895 obituary. |
