Trotter Fairbairn **

#1361, (cir. 1772 - Aug 1856)
Assumed fatherThomas Fairbairn (cir. May 1743 - ); It is possible, and I stress possible, that Trotter's father is the 1743 Thomas baptised as son of James Fairbairn and Elspeth Trotter in Stitchel, and that this Thomas may or may not be the Thomas of Makerston, marrying Isobel Smith at Kelso in the Stitchel OPRs in 1771 (however on naming pattern alone, I would expect Trotter's parents to be a Thomas and Barbara, which latter is not a common name).
Assumed motherIsobel Smith (say 1745 - )
WebIntroAlthough we do not, and may never, know how Trotter connects to Lineage 1, there is a dna match between descendants.
It may be significant that at least one child of David and Jane (Herd) Fairbairn was baptised at Ladykirk. And that there is a Wanless marriage down this line. However, the strongest dna link for Trotter (Lineage 1b) is now shown to be Lineage 1c, with Joe (F-10) coming a close second, along with one of our ELLIOTs (F-32).
