G Roy Fairbairn (F-3)
#1111
| Father | William Tate Fairbairn (1892 - 1960) |
| Mother | Ellen White |
| GeneticDistance(Testee) | At 12 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Roy show: zero to Earl, Martin, Doug and William; 1 to Joe, Doug, Tom, David, David and Patrick. |
| GeneticDistance(Testee37Markers) | At 37 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Roy show: zero to Earl; 1 to Martin; 2 to William and Michael; 3 to David(CAMPBELL); 4 to Doug(GOODFELLOW), Tom and Ron; 5 to Joe and John(JOHNSTON); 7 to David(TROTTER) and Patrick. |
| GeneticDistance(Testee67Markers) | At 67 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from Roy show: zero to Earl; 2 to Michael, GD and William; 3 to Doug(BLAKEY) and Martin; 6 to Stewart, Robert, (F-42) and Michael; 7 to John(JOHNSTON), Joe, David, Geoffrey, Alexander, Z5AWP and 8V8X3(Elliott); 9 to Patrick; with Earl and Roy belonging to "clump 1" of Lineage 1, currently defined by marker 391 = 9 and 520 = 21. Joe (F-10) and David (F-9) being the two closer matches from "clump 2." |
| GeneticDistance(Testee111Markers) | At 111 markers the theoretical Genetic Distance (GD) calculations from G show: 8 to Stewart; 9 to John(JOHNSTON) and Charles(Elliott); these being the only 4 tests at this level to date. Family Tree DNA's time predictor shows that the link between Roy's "Clump 1" and Stewart (F-38) & John (F-17)'s "Clump 2" has a 62% probability ofa shared ancestor within 12 generations. |
| Lineage(Testee) | Roy was found to be part of Fairbairn Lineage 1 "clump 1", see here for chart. |

| Researcher(Researcher) | Roy is researching the line of William Fairbairn *. Email: Roy (email current as at 11 Nov 2008). |
| WebSummary(Witness) | The Hoquiam Triangle: We now have the preliminary dna results in for William (F-12), a documented descendant of John A Fairbairn Snr of Stillwater, Washington Co, MN, with Bill is indeed showing as an excellent match to Roy (F-3), the descendant of John's uncle William (phew!) The relationship to the other side of the Hoquiam triangle is rather murkier however as the representative of the Sunderland side of the triangle, Joe (F-10), belongs to "clump 2" of lineage 1. Still related, but how? With the full 67 marker results in, it rather looks like the 3rd side of the triangle represented by Joe (F-10), is showing marginally closer relationships with the lines of Thomas Fairbairn (marr. Elspeth Redpath), John Fairbairn (marr. Helen Campbell) and Trotter (marr. Jane Fairbairn) Fairbairn) lines. The expected relations above come a close second. The stated Genetic Distances of 5 for the lines of Thomas (REDPATH) and John (CAMPBELL) and 6/7, the John (FLINT) lines, can probably be marked one less because of the faster mutating markers involved. |
